How LA Kings Fans Got Staples Center to Cover Up The Taylor Swift Banner

The Los Angeles Kings are currently 2-3 and in sixth place in the pacific division. The Edmonton Oilers lead the way as they’re 5-0. Now, LA is making a move that they believe will please fans and bring some better luck.

According to Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times, the team’s marketing rep told him that the Taylor Swift banner inside STAPLES Center for most sold out performances there at 16 will be covered during their games. The reasoning for us is that the fans just aren’t feeling it anymore. The banner was placed next to the Lakers’ and Sparks’ banners and retired jerseys.

“The connection to our fans is our highest priority and through our engagement they have made it clear that the banner shouldn’t be part of their Kings game experience,” said the rep.

As far as the superstition surrounding the Taylor Swift banner, some fans viewed it as bad luck as the Kings haven’t won a playoff series since 2015 when it was first placed inside the arena. The Lakers don’t plan to cover it up during their games, though.
