Stephen A. Smith and the ESPN First Take crew debated in front of large crowd in South Carolina a day before the Clemson Tigers are set take on the Florida State Seminoles. Dabo Sweeny made a short appearance on the First Take set where he expounded on his stance regarding paying college athletes or allowing them to profit from their likeness.
Also present were the Clemson Cheerleaders which is customary for events like First Take and College Gameday who are also in South Carolina this weekend to cover the game of the day on Saturday.
Everything seemingly went according to plan without any noticeable hiccups during the 2 hours Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman and Molly Qerim discussed topics from around the sporting world. That was until Stephen A. Smith posted an otherwise harmless photo of himself flanked by 3 Clemson Cheerleaders with a cringe worthy caption to say the least.
The caption in question has since been changed after what I’m sure made for a pretty embarrassing predicament for Stephen A. Smith who is otherwise pretty buttoned down and highly aware of how words can be perceived or twisted.
Flip to the next page to see the original caption that had Stephen A. Smith scrambling for the edit button as well as the safer less creepy tagline he decided to go with.
