During Last nights press conference with the media, Warriors forward Draymond Green faced reality very quickly as many fans did when they were wiped off their brand new, 1 Billion dollar home floor to the new and revamped Los Angeles Clippers.
Notably during this media spectacle, Green told reporters,
“I’m not a moral victory type of guy, I’m not leaving this game looking for something to build off on, We F*cking Sucked”
The final score was 141-122 and it wasn’t even that close. There was a span in the 3rd quarter that fans were leaving the area after the home team was down nearly 30 points (111-86).
The Clippers opened the game on a 14-0 run hitting 5 of 6 from the field; Consequently during this stretch the Warriors shot 0-6 including 4 clanks from downtown.
To add more misery, All Star forward Draymond Green injured his right elbow during a screen, which gave the team a brief scare.
He returned shortly thereafter, finishing 3 of 6 from the field for 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
Klay Thompson is projected to miss this season due to him injuring his ACL in last years NBA Finals against the Raptors.
Kevin Durant is in Brooklyn with Kyrie. The Warriors are certainly missing a ton of fire power on both ends of the floor, but nevertheless did acquire All-Star D’angelo Russell to tag alongside Steph Curry and Draymond Green.
They have a young core to work with, even though it will take time to mesh.
The question is how much time and do they have, and will they have time to adjust battling in a loaded Western Conference.
