Update on Ex-Georgia and Miami Head Coach Mark Richt After Suffering Heart Attack

Mark Richt is definitely one of the most solid head coaches that college football has seen. He was the Head Coach at Georgia from 2001-2015 where he earned six SEC East titles along with two SEC Championships. He ended up finishing his coaching career at Miami from 2016-2018 where the program struggled to put together a national championship contending team despite early signs of success. He is now an ESPN and ACC Network analyst.

Richt sadly suffered a heart attack this morning according to TMZ Sports but has provided an update on his condition and says that he’s doing fine. Richt explained that when he was going through the scary moment, he would’ve been at peace if he passed away.

“I am assuming word travels fast,” said Richt in a statement. “So I wanted to be able to inform everyone that I did have a heart attack this morning. As I went through the experience I had peace knowing I was going to heaven but I was going to miss my wife.”

Richt also added that his health is ok enough for him to return to work this week. Hopefully, Richt’s health improves from this point.
