The Kansas City Chiefs may be winning Thursday night against the Denver Broncos, but its the loss of their MVP quarterback that is surely on the team’s mind and the rest of the NFL.
Reigning NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes was knocked out of Thursday night’s game with a right knee injury after he attempted a QB sneak on a 4th & 1 play with 10 minutes left in the second quarter.
Mahomes was visibly shaken up and in pain as trainers popped his kneecap back into place and has a dislocated kneecap, but no fracture, this according to Herbie Teope of The Kansas City Star.
Although the full extent of the damage won’t be known until MRI results are revealed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Somehow Mahomes was able to walk off the field and Erin Andrews of Fox Sports spoke to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid at halftime and said that Mahomes would be,
“…ok…”.
The injury did not look good and it is certain that Mahomes will have the most anticipated MRI of the NFL season this week.
Awesome team win! Love my brothers! Thank you for all the prayers! Everything looking good so far! #GodisGood #ChiefsKingdom
