This week, Florida State fired Head Coach Willie Taggart after a season and a half in Tallahassee. He finished 9-12 at FSU.
There’s already been a lot of rumors as to who will replace Taggart. One popular name is former Oklahoma Head Coach, Bob Stoops. According to ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit though, that isn’t happening. This is after reports stated that Stoops was nearing a deal with FSU.
Stoops reportedly said that any reports stating that he’s a candidate for the FSU job are not accurate and he’s simply “not a candidate.” Stoops added that he hasn’t spoken to anyone regarding the position either. It’ll be interesting to see if FSU will end up actually landing a big name such as Stoops in the end though. As of now, Stoops is still set to be the head coach of the Dallas Renegades of the XFL.
