With a slew of injuries at key positions, the Golden State Warriors season might be over even before the All-Star break.
Draymond Green, Stephen Curry and of course Klay Thompson are all out with injuries that could keep them sidelined for significant stretches of time. D’Angelo Russell who has missed the last two games with an ankle sprain may return against the Houston Rockets and brand new trade whispers involving the Miami Heat with a few caveats.
The decision to move D’Angelo Russell seems to rest largely on the Golden State Warriors ability to play themselves into playoff contention. In the past, a playoff birth would’ve been a foregone conclusion but in a revamped duo heavy Western Conference it’ll be an uphill battle for the depleted Warriors.
Via Reddit this was said about D’Angelo Russell’s Trade prospects:“It depends on how this season plays out. If the Warriors are still in the playoff hunt, they are better riding that out than evaluating options in the summer. Plus D-Lo’s value could be higher after having a productive season in Golden State. If it becomes clear they are a lottery team, the Warriors should extract as much value from a D-Lo trade as much as they can. The warriors aren’t thinking that way yet. The season is way too early.”
The season is young and anything can happen, but if the start of the Warriors 2019 campaign is any indication into the future then we assume it’s highly likely D’Angelo may be wearing new colors sooner rather than later.
