Geno Smith Responds to Overtime Coin Flip Controversy on Twitter (Tweets)

The Seahawks and 49ers played a thriller of a game on Monday Night Football with the Seahawks eeking out a 27-24 win in OT. However, what became a subject of controversy after the game was whether Seahawks backup quarterback Geno Smith called “heads” or “tails.”

In a “yanny or laurel” type scenario, people on Twitter to figure whether Smith called heads or tails before the coin flip to begin OT. The referee obviously thought that Smith called heads, but upon further review, it does also sound Smith called tails as well.

Smith finally weighed in on Twitter, and he wasn’t happy with how he thought the media was trying to distort his words for “clout.”
