Striker Zlatan Ibrahimović has been nothing short of amazing for the Los Angeles Galaxy these past two seasons. He’s totaled 52 goals and 17 assists. Sadly, the Galaxy’s season ended in the MLS Cup playoffs where they were knocked out by local rival, LAFC. The club and Ibrahimović both agreed to mutually part ways today though.
Ibrahimović took to Twitter today to address his time in LA coming to an end. He said “I came, I saw, I conquered. Thank you @lagalaxy for making me feel alive again.” He says that Galaxy fans got the real him and took a little shot at them by saying they can go back to watching baseball now. He definitely feels that the Galaxy were blessed to have had his presence and play.
It’s a bit awkward in this situation considering that the Dodgers’ season is over. Coincidentally, they got knocked out of their postseason as well. It doesn’t seem like Galaxy fans are sweating his loss too much or that baseball season is over due to them still having the Rams, Clippers, and Lakers.
As far as the future for Ibrahimović, he is now 38. He is remembered most for his international play so that could be an option again.
