Yesterday, it was announced did that Ohio State star defensive end, Chase Young, could be facing a 4-game suspension for accepting a loan from a family friend. Young only did this so his girlfriend could make the trip to the Rose Bowl. He wasn’t available today for OSU’s 73-14 route of Maryland.
Young ended up paying back this loan but the NCAA still wants to punish him with this suspension. LeBron James has been very vocal about the NCAA profiting off of their athletes and took to Twitter again to express disappointment in the way they’re treating Young now. He says the NCAA doesn’t care about these kids at all and only about how they can continue to make them money.
James also said that Young needing to borrow money tells you all you need to know about the NCAA. James makes very good points. The NCAA is still punishing their athletes despite agreeing on recently letting them profit off of their names and likeness. It won’t be in affect until sometime around 2023 though.
