Josh Gordan seemed to finally be exhibiting some consistency in his actions and ability to stay on the field after numerous suspensions for drug abuse. His now former team the New England Patriots headed by the all-seeing Bill Belichick appeared to be the perfect organization for a struggling talent like Josh Gordon’s to hone in on getting better.
Unfortunately the Patriots felt like his production was declining and his behavior was increasingly becoming an issue they were not prepared to endure any longer. From missed practices to being at times unreachable ultimately was enough for the New England Patriots to relieve themselves of Josh Gordon’s presence on the team as they are known to do with players not toeing the company line.
On the bright side of things, Josh Gordon was claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks, his new coach Pete Carroll described him as a “unique talent.” On the not so bright side, although Russell Wilson is an elite quarterback in the NFL he’s no Tom Brady.
Pete Carroll also had this to say when asked to comment on the latest addition to the team,
“I’ve said it a million times to you guys, we’re always looking for guys that have something special about them.” “We need to find out, so we’ll take a look next week and see what it means.”
Josh Gordon’s first game will be against the red hot San Franciso 49ers on Monday Night Football, lets hope this situation ends better than his stint on the New England Patriots.
