Twitter Reacts To Cam Newton “Reportedly Welcoming Trade To Bears” If They’re In The Market For Quarterback (Tweets)

It was reported this morning by ESPN’s Ian Rapoport that Former MVP and Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, who has been injured since earlier in the season and still recovering from a serious foot injury, is welcome to the idea and notion of being traded to the Chicago Bears.

Ian briefly stated,

Cam Newton would “welcome” a trade to the Bears if they’re in the market for a quarterback”

Cam knows that behind the scenes it’s highly likely he will be dealt before next season.

Why? The Panthers would save approximately 19 million in cap space if Cam is indeed not signed by the organization.

Would Cam take a pay-cut to stay in Charlotte? Probably not, and why would he.

The Bears currently have their own issues at the quarterback position. Mitchell Trubisky, who has been abysmal at the position with one of the top defenses in the league could soon be benched if the acquisition of Newton is indeed taken place.

The Panthers look as if backup Kyle Allen is the future in Charlotte and appear to flip the page past Newton’s era.
