NWA announcer and Hall of Fame wrestling manager Jim Cornette is no stranger to controversy in the wrestling community.
Cornette has long been an advocate of traditional pro wrestling often going on profanity-laced tirades about the modern style and performers of today.
Cornette has once again landed himself in hot water making for making a racist remark on commentary during the most recent episode on “NWA: Powerr.”
During a match between Nick Aldis and Trevor Murdoch Cornette was eluding to Murdoch’s fearlessness when he made his controversial statement.
He’s the only man I know that could strap a bucket of chicken across his back and ride a motor scooter across ethiopia.”
The episode has since been pulled off of YouTube to be edited and NWA Vice President and Executive Producer Dave Lagan issued a “sorry if you’re offended” style apology.
This is also not the first time Cornette has been involved in racial controversy, as several years ago a recording on YouTube of Cornette telling a story where he called a black man the “N word” repeatedly to try and get “heel heat” was posted.
