The restaurant just opened in June of 2018, but it will be closed before we hit 2020.
It was probably not a smart move to open one in Houston with Ayesha Curry’s name attached to it, the other locations are doing well.
Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina’s International Smoke restaurant at CityCentre is closing.
The mini national restaurant chain from the celebrity cook/cookbook author and the James Beard Award-winning chef puts a global spin on items from the grill, including St. Louis ribs, cedar-smoked salmon and bacon-pork belly steamed buns prepared tableside.
“International Smoke Houston will be closing its doors, effective immediately. We are grateful to all of our staff and guests for all of their support in the time that we’ve been open,” Jamie Law, a representative for the restaurant, told the Houston Chronicle in an email. “We look forward to welcoming our guests at one of our other International Smoke restaurant locations in San Francisco, Del Mar and Aventura, as well as the newest addition in Las Vegas, slated to open before the end of the year.”
Before the doors opened, it came under fire by Rockets fans who took to Yelp to undermine the restaurant. Ayesha Curry’s husband, Stephen, was an instrumental part of the Warriors’ 2018 win over the Rockets in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, ending the Rockets’ season in heartbreak. The Warriors would go on to win their third championship in four years after defeating the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.
Ayesha is rich so she can take a loss on this.
