Tomorrow night, undefeated Gervonta Davis will be taking on Yuriorkis Gamboa for the vacant WBA lightweight title. Davis was one pound overweight at the weigh-in but was able to get back down to 134.8 in an hour so, the fight is still officially on.
Davis is also one who gives back to his community in his hometown of Baltimore. Back in July, sources close to his camp told BSO that he gave 100 tickets to foster children to his fight in Baltimore vs Ricardo Núñez. Now, he is bringing kids from Upton Boxing Gym to Atlanta for the big fight against Gamboa.
According to Rick Ritter of WJZ, these kids were given food, transportation, and a hotel to stay at while in Atlanta. At Davis, weigh-in today, they wore GTD jumpsuits in support of him. He also wants to show the kids as long as you stay focused, stay strong and work as a team, you can be the best.
