NBA on TNT analyst Charles Barkley has had a lot to say about Dallas Mavericks F-C Kristaps Porzingis.
Porzingis has consistently played well for the Dallas Mavericks as he continues to come back after a 20 month lay off due to his knee injury.
The Latvian star has been the frequent recipient of criticism from Charles Barkley for his unwillingness to post up and play down on the block.
Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle has heard enough of Barkley and his critiques of Porzingis and his game and clapped back at the NBA legend after the team’s 102-98 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
During Thursday’s broadcast Barkley said of Porzingis, via Brad Townsend of Dallas Morning News on Twitter,
“Rick Carlisle has got to say, ‘Yo, man, we need you to be aggressive. We can’t rely on Doncic every single night. . . . No more excuses that you were hurt last year. .’ If he’s aggressive when Doncic is not there, he can be aggressive when Doncic is there.”
Carlisle sharply criticized Barkley in an epic NSFW clap back that not only defended Porzingis but offered knowledge on how the NBA has changed and why Porzingis should be appreciated for who he is.
