4-18 record and just like that, David Fizdale is out. The Knicks have appointed Mike Miller as interim head coach, while we wait for another casualty.
After last night’s loss, the Knicks are now at obviously 4-19.
Friday’s breaking but not so surprising news of David Fizdale’s dismissal came and there were two clear debates – he was set up for failure since the team signed 4 power forwards and have a total of 5 guys who play that position – with a roster of 12 guys. On the other hand, David Fizdale wasn’t exactly making power moves and his sideline antics didn’t exactly help out his case.
Who exactly is Mike Miller? We’ll fill you in as we did as our research.
Miller’s experience is quite vast as it extends from college to G League. In 2015, Miller got an opportunity to work with the Westchester Knicks – this means he has experience with player development. In 2018, he was awarded with the G League Coach of the Year and in that same year, the team had a 32-18 record. Despite the loss and we’re unsure of what the head coach situation looks like, Miller is a good filler. (Pause for my corny joke).
During Saturday night’s loss and to everyone’s surprise, the Knicks didn’t lose by 60 and instead, lost by one point. If you look at the box score, it’s the same story of just not knowing how to close it out and hold on to the lead in the second.
The next Knicks game is this Tuesday and ironically, they’ll be fighting to win the Blazers, featuring Carmelo Anthony.
