This month, T.I. was heavily criticized for revealing on the ‘Ladies Like Us’ podcast that he took his 18-year-old daughter, Deyjah to yearly gynecologist checkups on her hymen to see if she was sexually active. Many felt that he was too controlling of her body and he was completely wrong in this situation.
The Atlanta legend recently appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s ‘Red Table Talk’ show and backtracked on his comments by saying that he didn’t go to the gynecologist without Deyjah’s mother, he wasn’t the one who booked the appointments and hasn’t gone to these appointments with her in recent years. Now, east coast legend, Rah Digga, is one of the few celebrities who appear to be defending Tip.
Digga responded to a story about New York legislators pushing to ban “purity exams” after the whole drama with T.I.’s comments about Deyjah. She thinks it’s wrong that people view parents monitoring their children’s sex lives as crimes and that she stands with T.I. She even stayed a virgin until she was 19 due to being nervous about her father finding out about her sex life but she was thankful for it.
Digga also emphasized points again that school work, online/social media activity, and other things that children do are monitored but it doesn’t make sense that it’s wrong to monitor sex lives. She did say though that she found out her own daughter was having sex, she had a conversation with her and made she she was doing it safely.
