Urban Meyer on How Seriously He’s Considering Becoming Redskins’ New Head Coach After Attending Eagles-Redskins Game

Yesterday, former Florida, Utah and Ohio State Head Coach, Urban Meyer, was isn’t he building at FedEx Field to watch the Redskins take on their NFC East rival Eagles. Washington went down 37-27, after having an early lead in the fourth quarter.

Meyer being in attendance fueled speculation that he could be Washington’s new head coach at the end of the season. According to reporter Brit Hume, Meyer told him that he was in the city for a White House Christmas party after originally going to the Army vs Navy game on Saturday.

As far as the Redskins go, Meyer said “I think I’m done coaching.” He added that he knew being at the game would start rumors of him possibly being an NFL coach in D.C. Jay Grudden was fried by the team earlier this season. Meyer coached current Redskins starting rookie QB Dwayne Haskins at Ohio State so the connection is there. It looks like that isn’t influencing his decision though.
