How LSU Players Reacted When Cop Threatened To Arrest Them For Smoking Cigars After Winning National Championship

Last night’s national championship game between Clemson and LSU was very good through two and a half quarters. Joe Burrow and LSU just started to really get into their groove after that point though as Burrow totaled 463 passing yards and five TD passes in their 42-25 route.

Following the game, the celebration on the field was on as we even saw former LSU Tiger, Odell Beckham hand the players money. In the locker room, Burrow was seen smoking a cigar and apparently, other LSU players were too and the police felt some type of way about it.

According to Michael Casagrande of Alabama.com, a cop walked into a “smokey LSU locker room” and said everyone smoking a cigar is subject to arrest. The players were reportedly smoking the cigars for 15 minutes and they laughed at the threat by the cop. Another cop was completely fine with the cigars though.

Nobody was arrested but smoke did go from the locker room into the hallway before reporters spoke to the players. When Burrow had his cigar, it was prior to speaking at the postgame press conference. This particular cop needs to relax. This is one of the biggest championship games in the country and LSU won it all in their home state.
