If The Chargers Move On From Philip Rivers He Might Already Have a Landing Spot (Tweets)

Philip Rivers is coming off of what may end up being his last year as a Charger, but he’s not ready to hang up the cleats yet.

Rivers, 38, is in the last year of his contract with the Chargers and will become a free agent this offseason. One of the teams interested in Rivers is rumored to be the Indianapolis Colts coached by River’s former QB coach and Offensive Coordinator Frank Reich.

CBS Sports reported on the chatter that their hearing around the league about a possible Rivers and Reich reunion in Indianapolis.

Speaking of Rivers, keep hearing chatter about him ending up with the Colts. Would make a lot of sense, actually, and playing in a dome at this stage of his career would only help. I have reservations about how much he has left, and the decision making coupled with the declining arm strength could be an issue anywhere he plays. But if Andrew Luck stays retired, Rivers might be worth a look there. I expect the Colts to be movers and shakers on the trade and free agency front, as well, looking to add more sizzle to the roster, though the draft remains their lifeblood …”

Rivers to Indiannoplis would make sense with Rivers in need of a fresh start and the Colts faltering down the stretch with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback.
