Knicks Stayed Close To Lakers, But Were Outdistanced

Surprisingly enough, the Knicks put up a good fight against the Lakers last night and even stayed close till the final minutes of the game. The Lakers beat the Knicks. However, some good things were noticed.

Knicks vs. Lakers always bring out the crowd and that was obviously demonstrated as even stars came out for Wednesday night’s game. The fans were definitely loud and even wondered, “Could the Knicks beat the Lakers tonight?”

The score went tied at 48 into halftime. They looked a lot better than the previous meet with the Lakers in LA. As they’re trying to feel each other out, some players also had some minutes last night.

Damyean Dotson is earning those minutes, even though he missed a crucial 3-point shot with about a minute left in the 4th. Marcus Morris continues to fight and do his job. One can’t help but wonder how the game would’ve been had RJ Barrett been playing. The rookie is still out with his ankle injury. Julius Randle was attacking as he had 8 rebounds and 16 points.

They did manage to hold the Lakers and stay within range. It could’ve gotten ugly really quickly but the defense stepped up big time. As the players say, it’s mini victories.

Take a  look back – lot of close ones have been lost this month and vital games that might, if you’re extremely optimistic, might’ve been able to land them at a fight for the 8th spot.

Trade deadline is right around the corner.

The Raptors are in town tomorrow night. Knicks-Raptors is at 7:30 PM ET.
