LaVar Ball has always envisioned his sons playing for the same NBA team and is a big believer in speaking things into existence. With both being understood, the OG Big Baller has hatched a new (diabolical?) plan to unite his sons while simultaneously saving the Knicks.
The first couple of steps are rather obvious, the Knicks would have to draft LaMelo, trade for Lonzo and sign LiAngelo to their roster. All of these moves on the surface seem realistic. The Knicks are currently lined up for a top draft pick and once upon a time they signed JR Smith’s brother to a contract despite the fact he resembled nothing close to an NBA player. According to LaVar, all three would thrive with Mark Jackson coaching the team.
“He’d be perfect for New York. He’d be perfect. You know why I say that? Because he from New York, he’s a point guard. Please pick my son first (in the draft). If he’s over there and getting my other two sons with Mark Jackson, he’s going to do the same thing he did in Golden State with my boys.”
The Knicks are possibly the most hopeless franchise in professional sports at the moment. If Lavar’s plan ever came to fruition you can’t tell me that A: the Knicks wouldn’t be infinitely more exciting and B: couldn’t profile as a 40-win squad. Count me in on this weird Big Baller Branded Madison Square Garden marriage.
