LeBron James is already said to be one of, if not the greatest basketball player to ever play, but his 3-6 record in the NBA finals hinders many people from naming him the undisputed best player to ever touch a basketball. Outside of his record in the finals, LeBron’s long list of accomplishments in the NBA keeps him alive in the greatest of all-time conversation. Tonight he looks to add yet another milestone to his resume.
As of right now LeBron is sitting at number four on the all-time leading scorer’s list with 33,626 and only needing 18 more points to move past Kobe Bryant for the third spot on the list, meaning he will likely pass him tonight against Philadelphia. Although being one of the top three scorers in NBA history is a great accomplishment, it still may not be enough to call LeBron the clear cut GOAT. With that being said, James is still in prime position to pass Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the top spot on the list. Getting to that top spot along with another possible championship or two may actually be enough to finally name LeBron James the clear cut best player to ever do it.
At the end of the day, the GOAT conversation will continue on forever and there may never be an agreement on the single greatest player ever; but when it is all said and done one thing that cannot be argued is LeBron and his greatness throughout his illustrious NBA career.
