La Parka aka Jesus Alfonso Escoboza Huerta, is a legend in the wrestling world down in Mexico as he’s viewed as one of the best to ever do it. Tragedy struck in October though as he had a match in Monterey, Mexico and suffered a severe head injury.
Parka dove through the ropes towards his opponent but it went wrong as he hit his head on a rain while attempting to jump outside the ring. He was soon sent to a local hospital to undergo surgery but at that point, he was paralyzed. He’s been on life support since Friday after he was found to have had kidney failure. This is after months of fighting his injuries. On Saturday, Parka officially passed away from lung and kidney failure, according to TMZ Sports.
Parka wrestled in Lucha Libre AAA as he’s been in the business since 1987. Some of his notable accomplishments are winning championships in the Triplemanía Cup and Antonio Peña Cup. The fact that he wrestled until he was 54 is definitely impressive. He will definitely be missed greatly by the sport.
