Kyrie Irving is getting back into the swing of things with his Brooklyn Nets team after recently returning from a shoulder injury that he sustained on November 12. Brooklyn stands at eighth in the East at 18-22 all while dealing with a very tough Atlantic division.
Irving spoke to the media today about the criticism he continues to receive and how people have their name in their mouth all the time. He also emphasized how great he expects his teammates to be and also himself. If Irving doesn’t see that, he simply wants them to “stay the f*ck out” the locker room.
“I’m going to continue to demand greatness out of myself and demand greatness out of my teammates. … If it’s too much for anybody, you’re not in our locker room—stay the f–k out.”
Irving noted that he’s aware of the drama that’s part of the league now and he’s not some a*shole that yells in the locker room all the time. The passion is definitely real by Irving. This is his first season in Brooklyn as he left the Celtics in free agency last summer. Questions are still here though about his lack of leadership.
