Rakeem Nunez-Roches a defensive tackle on the Bucs, has recently been accused of abandoning his Cane Corse on the side of the road. Tampa Bay has since started an investigation into the situation but for now, there is a happy ending for the dog.
According to TMZ Sports, his name is Jitterbug and has now been adopted by a woman named Andrea Johnson along with her husband, Keith. They say that already have a Cane Cardi and when they heard Jitterbug was at a rescue shelter, they went over to add him to the family. The couple says they know a lot about his breed and have a home with a huge backyard and pool that he’d enjoy.
Jitterbug was adopted by Andrea and Keith on New Year’s Eve. Another interesting side to this situation is that Andrea ended up contacting Nunez-Roches’ wife to learn about Jitterbug’s interests and personality. Car rides and walks are two of his preferences. Nunez-Roches’ wife also added that they originally had to give him away because they are having a baby. This is still no reason to abandon the dog though.
