A woman who disappeared from her own Super Bowl party is still missing nine days later as police call off a ground search and begin to prepare to send out a dive team to search for her on the coast of Massachusetts near her home.
Abbie Flynn, 59, was last heard from when she called her son to say that she was going for a walk around 4 pm Super Bowl Sunday before her company arrived.
When the guests arrived around 6 pm, Flynn was nowhere to be found. The food that she prepared was still in the oven, and her phone was on the kitchen counter.
Authorities spent days searching through wooded areas near Flynn’s house for her but came up empty, and the ground search was halted.
Massachusetts State Police dive team is preparing to commence an underwater search. Still, they need the right weather to do that according to what police spokesman John Guilfoil told the Houston Chronicle.
There is a plan for the Massachusetts State Police dive team to commence a search with underwater means, but we have been waiting for the proper weather to go out into the ocean.”
Police do not suspect foul play in Flynn’s disappearance and suggest that she may have gotten lost or suffered a medical issue on her walk.
Flynn is a retired nurse and mother of three.
