The Carolina Panthers are in a transitional period. Long time head coach Ron Rivera was fired during the season. Veteran tight end Greg Olsen departed for free agency. All-Pro linebacker Luke Kuechly retired, and now it looks like even franchise QB Cam Newton’s future is in doubt.
Panthers Owner David Tepper has made it clear that he will not discuss Newton’s future until he knows that he’s healthy.
The former league 2015 NFL MVP Newton is coming off of a season where he played just two games due to a Lisfranc injury. If Newton is healthy, he’s one of the most dynamic QB’s in the league, but the past two seasons, he’s been slowed by injuries.
If Newton can stay healthy, he might return to MVP form, but it might not be ina Panthers jersey.
