Everyone from Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant, Michael Jordan and Beyonce piled into Staples Center for Kobe and GiGi Bryant’s memorial service, one of the more personal speakers was Kobe Bryant’s former agent and best friend Rob Pelinka.
Rob Pelinka currently holds the general manager position for the Los Angeles Lakers, on Monday during his opportunity to speak to those watching on TV and in the arena, Pelinka detailed the last exchange between Kobe Bryant and himself.
The conversation according to Rob Pelinka centered largely around Kobe Bryant trying to help one of John Altobelli’s daughters get an internship at an agency. This exchange almost didn’t happen at all as Rob Pelinka was in church service where he doesn’t normally check his phone.
Kobe Bryant attempting to help a young woman break into the sporting world, not knowing that his last moments were at hand, is indicative of the man many so many mourns today until his last breath doing his part to help women advance in the world of sports.
