There’s a saying that players are suppose to finish to the final whistle. Well Rockets point guard Russell Westbrook took that notion literally, ultimately leading him to being ejected for throwing a elbow against Damion Lee of the Warriors.
The Rockets who were up by 35 points with a little over 6 minutes lost Westbrook who appeared to throw a frustrated elbow back at Damion Lee who straddled Westbrook as he attacked the lane, fighting for a rebound.
After being whistled for the foul, Westbrook had a few choice words for Lee who appeared to flop and act as if he had just been hit by a vicious haymaker.
Of course he sold the call , and Westbrook received his now 13th technical foul which now leads the NBA.
After officials reviewed the call, Westbrook appeared to have a few choice words for the entire Warriors bench, directing jabs at newly acquired Andrew Wiggins, and injured all star Klay Thompson.
After the game, Westbrook spoke with the media voicing his displeasure for being disqualified from the contest stating,
“I think it’s just unfair, that after all of that. I’m the only one who gets a tech or kicked out’
A commotion followed Westbrook having words with the bench of the Warriors which included several coaches, players, and security having to separate players from one another.
