Despite all the offensive prowess James Harden continues to layout on the floor each and every night, his defense always remains a primary talking point for others when his game gets analyzed.
But unlike the praise his offensive game receives, his defense has been continuously slandered by analysts and other players around the league.
The most recent high profile example? Giannis Antetokounmpo gave some surprising remarks after the 2020 NBA All-Star, revealing that his team’s offensive strategy was to attack James Harden, virtually calling out Harden’s lack of skill on the defensive end.
This has stirred somewhat of a feud between the two NBA superstars, with Harden questioning Antetokounmpo’s actual game in an interview with Rachel Nichols, and Antetokounmpo firing back with….not much of an insult at all.
It all comes back around to today, wherein an ESPN story written by Tim MacMahon, James Harden shot down the idea of NBA teams thinking they can beat the Rockets if they play straight matchup basketball.
The playoffs shall be very interesting.
