Top Cornerback Darius Slay got his wish granted after just last night after tweeting,
“Congrats my guy!!! Hope that speeds up my trade process!!!”
This was in reference to Lions acquiring former falcons CB Desmond Trufant, which ultimately opened up them trading Slay this morning.
According to Ian Rapoport
“As part of the deal , Slay receives a new contract that puts him among the highest paid at his position”
The Detroit Lions traded Slay to the Eagles for a third and fifth round pick in the 2020 draft. The Eagles get much needed help in the secondary. The Eagles were regarded as one of the worst secondaries in football last season.
The deal will pay Slay $16.6 Million a season with $30 Million guaranteed. 3 year extension for $50 Million.
