The New England Patriots are experiencing life without Tom Brady for the first time in almost 2 decades, the position that once was a foregone conclusion for the franchise, is now a point of the question as to whom they should move on with.
As it stands, Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer are the quarterbacks currently on the Patriots roster, but that could change following the 2020 NFL Draft if reports are accurate that the New England Patriots are in love with Oregon’s Justin Herbert.
In this case, love may not be enough to get Justin Herbert into a New England Patriots uniform, the Oregon Duck QB is expected to go high in the draft which means the Patriots would need to make some pretty risky moves in order to get in position to take Herbert.
While there is no shortage of pieces for Bill Belichick to move around to move up in the draft order, making such a risky move as the franchise looks to reset after years of dominate may turn out to be disastrous if Justin Herbert lives up to the enormous expectations that would await him in Boston as a Patriot.
The 2020 NFL Draft is a little over a week out, while things will look drastically different as COVID19 has forced the league take extreme measures to keep players safe and out of harm’s way, it will be business as usual for all 32 teams, Bill Belichick will have a tough decision to make as he weighs his options on the future of the quarterback position in New England.
