As we dig into what looks like another month of social distancing with limited movement and all sporting events cancelled, many are looking for creative ways to continue enjoying the sport they love, as well as keeping the participants safe from COVID-19.
People like foremer NBA player and Duke legend Jay Williams have suggested games take place on cruise ships which has been done in the college ranks before, others like Paul Pierce have more ambitious plans for the best way to complete the 2019 season.
Despite there being no official confirmation that the place even exists, Paul Pierce believes Area 51 yes, the Area 51 from the many movies and documentaries about secret spaceships and aliens, is the perfect place to safely complete the remaining games.
Right away several issues arise with this idea, even if we knew without a doubt the facility believed to be somewhere in the Nevada desert it would be nearly impossible to schedule games at one site, and one would imaginae Area 51 to be a highly secure facility that requires several levels of security clearanes to enter.
Nonetheless Paul Pierce is offering just a bit more than the NBA has regarding what a restart to the season could look like, thus far there have been no offical suggestions or ideas presented by NBA officals.
