The Last Dance which is scheduled to feature on April 19th at 9pm on ESPN leaked the first 5 minutes of its premiere this morning.
The 10-part feature which is based around the last season of Michael Jordan’s second 3-peat features the pros and cons Jordan and the Bulls endured while capturing the 1997-1998 NBA title.
Worth mentioning, during this segment Jordan who is arguably the best competitor of all-time on the hardwood says a lot of outside voices tried dictating what the Bulls season would foreshadow.
Mike wanted to prove them wrong stating,
“We had just finished winning a 5th title, their was a lot of uncertainty. Management had just started talking about how much things were going to change; a rebuild; I thought it was unfair. I would never let some whose not putting on a uniform and playing everyday dictate what we do on a basketball court”
Mike further went into depth wanting to make a clear and direct message to the naysayers, that not only would they be wrong, but their mentality would totally change by the end of the NBA season. There would be no doubting the dynasty of the Chicago Bulls.
When media asked Jordan what would be the biggest challenge during that “Last Dance” season, Jordan with a grim and slick expression on his face glance at Jerry Krause office. As you know much tension grew between management and the coaching staff specifically during this season.
