Michael Jordan probably didn’t envision being called insecure, a snitch, and a liar by his former teammates and the people who covered the team after The Last Dance aired. He did say that people would view him negatively after watching but I don’t think he thought those people would be people he spent a lot of time with.
He’s taken hit after hit ever since the documentary started and the next one comes from Sam Smith, the author of “The Jordan Rules.”
Smith appeared on 95.7 The Games BSG and said that Mike lied about a lot during the documentary.
“That was a complete and blatant lie by Michael,” Smith said of Jordan wanting to return for the 1998-99 season. “There were several things in the documentary that I saw, I would know, that he made up or he lied about. They weren’t major things, but it was like when a TV movie comes on and they say, ‘this is based on a true story.’ That’s what that was. It was based on a true story.”
Jordan let people believe that his infamous flu game was really the flu when in reality it was was just food poisoning so maybe he did lie about or make up a few things. The documentary was still really good and doesn’t really change how great he was.
