Derek Carr Laughs at The Idea of Marcus Mariota Taking His Job, But Seems Like He is Trying to Talk Himself Into Believing His Days Aren’t Numbered in Vegas (Video)

Derek Carr isn’t worried about his starting spot, even after the Las Vegas Raiders added Marcus Mariota to the QB room.

Carr has been met with some heavy criticism over the last couple of seasons, particularly due him being too safe with the ball, and his ineffectiveness throwing the ball down the field. The lack of an explosive element in the Raiders’s offense has been prevalent for some time, but it hasn’t been all of Derek Carr’s fault.

The Raiders have lacked a downfield threat ever since they sent Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys. Although Jon Gruden has tried to make up for Cooper’s absence, specifically with the addition of Tyrell Williams, the Raiders’s offense has continued to suffer in terms of a lack of a downfield element in their passing attack.

Its left Derek Carr, and his tendency to check down instead of pushing the ball down the field, potentially on the fence in terms of a starting spot.

But Carr hasn’t let the rumors, or Mariota’s signing drag him down.

In fact, he’s laughed off any rumors of Mariota potentially taking his spot.
