ESPN just released its top 10 players of all time list. Of course everyone will have an opinion on whose the best player of all time, agree or disagree.
Heres the list below….
- Michael Jordan
- Lebron James
- Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
- Bill Russell
- Magic Johnson
- Wilt Chamberlain
- Larry Bird
- Tim Duncan
- Kobe Bryant
- Shaq
These debates can go on forever, and quite honestly biases do come into play.
Did a player produce in the finals or stink up the joint?
Should a player have retired 3-4 years ago sooner, versus continuing to play tarnishing his career credentials?
Who did a player face in his career?
How many Hall of Famers did he face?
How many teams did they face to get into the finals?
These type of questions for sure came into play with the so-called experts ranking the top 10.
Notably, what I have a problem with is ranking Kobe 9 on this list. Magic Johnson himself has been on record many times calling Kobe the “Greatest Laker of All Time” and vice versa from Kobe’s standpoint on Magic. If you are arguably the Greatest Laker of All-time, how do you end up being 9 out of 10 on the list by these experts?
If you are new school and based on statistics you are more than likely choosing Lebron as the GOAT. In addition, if you grew up in the 90’s you are for certain choosing MJ as number 1.
Regardless of how you feel, as stated before this debate is everlasting.
