Washington Redskins-I’d believe the Redskins are pretty set at QB. Dwayne Haskins showed some promise in his rookie year, and he surely isn’t going to be canned after an up and down year with a pitiful supporting cast, Case Keenum is also on the roster and provides a steady veteran presence. I can really only see this if the team falls out of love with Case Keenum, which they haven’t shown any signs of doing so far.
Still, the QB merry go round has made its way into Washington before, so I guess I’ll keep them as an option for Kaepernick.
Jacksonville Jaguars- The Jags are all in on Gardner Minshew….for now. The ex-Washington State product flashed some brilliance early on on the year in place of Nick Foles, who went down in week 1 with a shoulder injury. After Foles put out a couple disappointing performances, the team benched him in favor of Minshew, and rode with him for the rest of the year. Now, with the keys to the offense undoubtedly in his hands, Minshew will be tasked with bringing Jacksonville some much need consistent QB play.
Kaepernick can slide in here as a backup, potentially coming on if Minshew has some problems along the way.
Tennessee Titans- The Titans already have their starter in Ryan Tannehill, but their backup QB spot remains a question mark. First things first, the Titans are going to let Logan Woodside and Cole McDonald battle it out for the backup spot, but if neither of those 2 can pull away in the competition, the team will then begin to explore the market for a veteran option.
That said battle won’t happen until training camp, so until then, this team isn’t much of a fit.
Los Angeles Chargers- Justin Herbert and Tyrod Taylor are the 2 favorites to start at QB once the season rolls around, but there’s still a route for Kaepernick to somehow find his way in LA. Taylor hasn’t exactly lit up the league during his time in the NFL, and Justin Herbert is an unproven rookie who might run into some road blocks along the way.
It’s a long shot, but there’s a way.
