I’m sure you’ve seen phony Twitter accounts attempt to “break news”, but for the “news” to not be any sort of news at all.
That’s why we leave that sort of thing to the big guns, the Adam Schefters, the Ian Rapoports, the Dianna Russinis, the Tom Pelisseros, and the Mike Garafolos of the world. Those guys are the guys we depend on for the news that send Twitter into a complete frenzy.
This time however, none of the big names, or the never-ending realm of personalities with sources, broke possibly the biggest football news in the last decade or so. Patrick Mahomes’s new 10-year contract extension is old news if we’re going by internet standards, but for the random liquor store worker who broke this piece of massive news, the experience she received afterward is still fresh in her mind.
