Dr. Carrie Steiner told NBC Chicago how the mental effects can harm officers if they don’t have any days off.
“There missing that mental health aspect that if you have officers work 12 hour days, for three weeks in a row, without any days off, how is that going to be helpful? We have to find some balance about officer wellness in all of these situations.”
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who often is used a meme on social media posted tweets about Boyd’s loss.
Boyd, 30, was taken to the medical examiner’s office in an ambulance by squad cars flashing lights. It seems like every black man’s death has been ruled a suicide when stories on African Americans are working for law enforcement or in custody.
