Video: Julian Edelman Offers to Take DeSean Jackson to Holocaust Museum

In a world where our opinions or quotes can be misinterpreted, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman offered Philadelphia wide receiver DeSean Jackson and invitation the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.Edelman who is Jewish, spoke on Instagram in a video detailing his experience as a Jew and how his encounter with hatred has no place in America.

“Whenever I encountered hatred, it never really felt like it was aimed at me. It was only after I was a part of this community that I learned how destructive hate is.” Edelman also reasoned with suggesting that the conversation must take place.

Jackson who stated in on his Instagram story “They will extort America, their plan for world domination won’t work if the Negroes know who they were.” With Jackson’s misconstrued attribution to Adolf Hitler, the NFL community and many others of Jewish heritage spoke out since his comments.

Blacks and Jewish have suffered at the expense of hate and racial slurs which reveals how much American needs to tackle the issue on anti-Semitism. NFL players who currently are in the fight among Black Lives Matter movement are holding Jackson accountable since his two issued apologies

According to the NFL, The Philadelphia Eagles issued a statement addressing Jackson’s comments. “We have spoken with DeSean Jackson about his social media posts,” the statement read. Regardless of his intentions, the messages he shared were offensive, harmful, and absolutely appalling. They have no place in our society and are not condoned or supported in any way by the organization. We are disappointed and we iterated to DeSean the importance of not only apologizing, but also using his platform to take action to promote unity, equality, and respect. We are continuing to evaluate the circumstances and will take appropriate action. We take these matters very seriously and are committed to continuing to have productive and meaningful conversations with DeSean, as well as all of our players and staff, in order to educate, learn, and grow.”
