Professional WWE wrestler, actor and businessman Paul Levesque better known as Triple H, discussed Adam Cole’s behavior on the Pat McAfee Show.
Levesque went on in the interview to state the obvious and about how both men’s differences may have led to their confrontation last week via Total Pro Sports.
“Look here’s the thing Pat. I like both of you guys and..umh. You’re both good guys, you’re both very passionate about what you do, and to me this is all a misunderstanding. Look, you guys have had a relationship for a while, positively, partially and then becoming negative. I think it started from a place of you participating in shows back in Indianapolis when you first came to a show I believe.”
Levesque offered McAfee an opportunity for promotion and to reconcile with Cole.
“I’ll promote your show, I’ll promote you just like we’ve done before. And if you don’t want to do it that way, if you just want to you and him sit in a room with nothing else around it, and no promotion, not the show, anything like that. I’m fine with that too. This is you and him. Man to man. But if you want to do that, separately, and because you’re in Florida or whatever that is, jump on the show. Whatever. Cool with that too.”
Sometimes the reality of comments made or constructive criticism can’t be accepted as the truth. Cole who felt intimidated by McAfee’s small comments mentioned how McAfee “a punter being on a team that literally did everything just happened to kick a football every other now and then and now all of sudden you feel like you’re really important.”
Cole knocked over the microphone and approached McAfee yelling “F*** you Pat!” while yelling about how he felt disrespected. He eventually pushed one of McAfee’s associates on the show and stormed out.
It clearly wasn’t McAfee’s intent to cause trouble as he tried to better understand Cole’s views on his career. Cole went to Twitter to apologize to McAfee with a well thought out explanation on how he felt.
“I had the weekend to think about everything, and it’s still hard to put into words where to begin. First of all, to anyone that I offended, I apologize. I apologize because I represent a brand that commands respect. Not just because of what we do in the ring, but how we handle ourselves outside the ring. Even though he continued to push my buttons, I still should have kept my composure and acted like a professional. I’m embarrassed by my reaction, and I will make sure something like that never happens again. Thanks for the continued support everyone.”
