A racist description on a “Florence Shakespeare” Oxford shoe is apparently catching the attention of Amazon shoppers. Amazon since has removed the item after it read “ Floren Formal Oxford For Men Pull-On Style Lace-Up Upper Material Genuine Leather Rubber Sole Are Easy To Wear Non-Slip.
According to TMZ, they reached out to Amazon for comment and haven’t heard anything back.
This act without question wasn’t a mistake since it went live on Amazon for sale. In previous years, incidents such as the “Coolest Monkey in The Jungle” by H&M apologized after featuring a young black boy on their website. H&M was also on the short end of placing a black girl on their ad where her hair was nappy as many social media critics gave their input. No apology has been made since the shoe was taken off of Amazon’s website.
TMZ also reported “All sellers must follow our selling guidelines and those who do not will be subject to action including potential removal of their account. The product in question is no longer available.”
