Buffalo Bills defensive back Tre’Davious White is on the borderline to opt out of the official NFL restart due to concerns of the coronavirus. White went to Twitter calling out fake fans of the NFL who believed his decision was ignorant and yet selfish. The Bills went 10-7 this past regular NFL season before losing to the Houston Texans by three points in the wild card round.
“I’m still kind of undecided,” White said. “Honestly.”
4: p.m EST is the deadline for NFL players to opt out of the season.
White is in a compromised position as a black man because most guys are looking for the check to create opportunity. As for White, health is more important than a football game as well as his family. If the fans are complaining, they should ask themselves how would they have reacted if Tom Brady made that decision since signing with Tampa Bay? Black men making their own decisions in sports does something to the soul of many whites who would rather see black people represent a brand before representing their personal decisions when it comes to family. In the end, would those so-called fans put football over their families?
