FOX/Fox Deportes: Shawn Porter vs Sebastian Formella
Fox will debut the return of Shawn Porter in a 12 round WBC/IBF welterweight eliminator versus undefeated German fighter Sebastian Formella.
This card should be interesting as it also has Sebastian Fundora “the towering inferno” in a step up of competition versus Nathanial Gallimore. Also on the card is 20 year old unbeaten prospect Joey Spencer (10-0, 7 KOs) vs Shawn West (5-1, 3 KOs) in a 6 round junior middleweight matchup.
The card airs on Fox and begins at 8:00 p.m. Eastern, 5:00 Pacific.
ESPN+ : Eleider Alvarez vs Joe Smith
In another eliminator,, this time for a chance at the WBO light heavyweight title, Eleider “Storm” Alvarez will face Joe Smith Jr.
Former Columbian Olympian Eleider Alvarez (25-1, 13 KOs) is looking to earn himself a title shot and has made a strong showing for himself after his huge knockout of Michael Seals earlier this year.
Joe Smith Jr. (25-3, 20KOs) lost his last title opportunity to Dmitry Bivol in 2019 and is looking to do whatever it takes to get the strap.
Also on the card worth watching are Clay Collard vs Maurice Williams and Robert Rodriguez vs Abel Soriano in a 6 round bantamweight title. Clay Collard has become somewhat of a prospect killer and has been very active in the bubble. This will be his third fight since boxing returned in January. Robert Rodriguez (“biggie”) trains at RGBA with Robert Garcia which guarantees that you will get the absolute most out of this young fighter. He is 8-0-1, with 4 KOs, one coming in his last fight from the bubble versus Adrian Servin.
The card will stream live on ESPN+ starting at 7:30 p.m. Eastern time/4:30 p.m. Pacific.
DAZN: Dillian Whyte vs Alexander Povetkin
This card boasts two title fights as Dillian Whyte will defend his WBC interim heavyweight title against Alexander Povetkin and Katie Taylor will defend her WBC, IBF, WBO, and WBA lightweight titles versus Defline Peroon.
Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) and Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs) are both looking for the opportunity to win and make themselves the mandatory opponent for Tyson Fury. Don’t expect either fighter to take this one lightly.
Katie Taylor became the undisputed lightweight champion when she beat Defline Peroon by majority decision and is looking to confirm that she is the better fighter in the rematch.
This card will stream on DAZN and begins at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time/11:00 a.m. Pacific
