There were rumblings around the time of the draft and during the draft about a big unfavorable story that was going to come out about Derrius Guice.
The story never came out, but it is safe to assume this was it.
Did LSU cover-up credible rape allegations against Guice?
Two women who attended LSU said they were raped by former Tigers running back Derrius Guice months apart in 2016.
Kenny Jacoby and Nancy Armour of USA Today reported Wednesday there’s no evidence the college investigated the allegations despite them being presented to at least four school officials, including two coaches, an athletics administrator and a nurse.
One woman said Guice later threatened to “get his gun” during a confrontation about the alleged sexual assault.
The woman’s boyfriend at the time, an LSU football recruit, wasn’t at the party. But he said the woman told him afterward about both the alleged assault and her conversation with the nurse. His description matched that of the woman’s.
The former boyfriend redshirted his freshman year and said he steered clear of Guice because “I probably would have lost my (expletive) on him.” But he said LSU head football coach Ed Orgeron brought up the subject of his then-girlfriend and Guice about a year after the alleged assault, telling the athlete that he shouldn’t be bothered by it.
“(Orgeron) said, ‘Everybody’s girlfriend sleeps with other people,’” the former player told USA TODAY.
The former player said he doesn’t know how Orgeron knew what happened, but he believes the coach knew it was not consensual.
LSU didn’t specifically say if they investigated the allegations or not, just that they take accusations seriously. One of the women says the LSU tennis coach didn’t believe her when she told her.
Guice’s lawyer says the entire story is false and should have never been reported.
Guice was recently cut by the Washington Football team after being arrested for allegedly assaulting and strangling his girlfriend three times.
