According to Fox5DC, Georgetown University football player Dijon Williams was arrested after wanted for murder in Washington, D.C.
Georgetown’s football season was postponed on July 13 when the Patriot League canceled all fall sports because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Williams played in 10 games as a freshman, missed his sophomore year due to injury and returned for five games in 2019 as a junior.”
Georgetown announced on Twitter “Williams has been suspended from the university football team.”
It’s unfortunate when a young guy has an opportunity to play football on a scholarship yet it’s thrown out the window.
Authorities say Dijon Williams, who was wanted by the Metropolitan Police Department for his role in the murder of Nurudeen Thomas, was located and arrested at a private residence in Gwinnett County.
A search warrant was executed on the residence to assist with an ongoing criminal investigation, according to authorities.
Thomas, 30, was found suffering from a gunshot wound at around 5 a.m. on July 21, in the 4100 block of 14th Street, Northwest. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
