One of the biggest differences between sports now and sports 20-40 years ago is social media. Fans have all kinds of access to athletes thoughts and all kinds of other things.
If a star athlete goes out the night before a game or doing anything that isn’t deemed what an athlete should do, he/she will likely be caught on camera and it will be put on social media almost immediately.
For that, Michael Jordan doesn’t think he’d be able to survive in this era.
MJ, who spoke with Cigar Aficionado, talks about how private he is so he wouldn’t want all of the attention that comes with social media. There have been a few MJ stories about things he did on his off days and before games and if we know about them without social media being available when he played then we would have definitely known about it then and it would have been a major story.
